Better Than Just Good TaylorMade R9 SuperTri Driver Reviewmysurbuy / 2010-06-02
Last year TaylorMade introduced the R9 driver, a 420cc head with Face Control Technology (FCT) and Movable Weight Technology (MWT) with three moveable weights. Not too long after they introduced the R9 460, golf clubs upgraded from the already excellent R9, an adjustable driver with only FCT, but in a more forgiving 460cc head.
The TaylorMade R9 SuperTri driver combines the best of the original R9 driver with the best of the R9 460 driver to deliver a club that offers a maximum sized driver that delivers incredible distance and wonderful forgiveness. As well as boasting the maximum 460cc head the R9 SuperTri also features the winning combination of Flight Control Technology (FCT) and Movable Weight Technology (MWT).
To allow a 460cc club head to accommodate both Movable Weight Technology and Flight Control Technology TaylorMade had to find a way of saving weight and they have managed to do this by using their own Ultra-Thin Wall technology more effectively throughout these golf clubs and reducing the weight of the Flight Control Technology mechanism by some three grams.
The TaylorMade R9 SuperTri driver features Inverted Cone Technology (ICT). Although it's milled onto the back of the clubface where it's out of sight, ICT plays a critical role by increasing the area of the clubface that delivers fast ball speed, promoting more distance on off-centre hits.
Sleek all-black looks made these very good looking golf clubs. The black PVD face was first seen from TaylorMade with the highly regarded R7 SuperQuad. The head shape is not quite the classic pear shape with its fractionally extended rear but it's a million miles from the lairy max-MOI efforts that are now so commonplace.
With cool looking and upgraded performance, there are all reasons for you to take seriously into consideration the TaylorMade R9 SuperTri driver.
