TaylorMade engineers have been working to find a way to incorporate ICT into irons for three years, and the fact that they have succeeded represents a breakthrough that allows the r7 CGB MAX to deliver consistently long distance even on off-center hits. The r7 CGB MAX iron incorporates Inverted Core Technology (ICT), a metalwood breakthrough used to expand the size of the COR zone in TaylorMade drivers. ICT changes the way the clubface behaves at impact and increases the size of the zone that delivers high initial ball speed. This makes the r7 CGB MAX more forgiving and easier to launch and promotes "constant distance" - exceptional yardage,shot after shot.

 

 

Pull-Face construction makes it possible for the r7 CGB MAX to employ TaylorMade's exclusive Inverted Cone Technology, which was pioneered three years ago in TaylorMade's R500 Series drivers and is still employed in TaylorMade's r7 and r5 driver models. With the r7 CGB MAX, the inverted cone is milled directly into the rear side of the clubface. The precise geometry of the inverted cone changes the way the clubface behaves at impact and effectively increases the size of the club's COR zone, so that a larger area of the clubface delivers a higher degree of ball speed.

In 2010 at Greenbrier Classic, Brand Ambassador Stuart Appleby became the fifth player in PGA Tour history to shoot 59, and only the second player to do so in the final round. He uses an Odyssey putter and finished the regular 2010 season with three top 10s, including his win at the Greenbrier Classic. His nine career PGA Tour victories include three straight Mercedes Championships from 2004-2006, as well as a pair of wins at the Shell Houston Open (1999 and 2006). He is the only player who has competed in each of the 29 World Golf Championships events since the series began in 1999. Stuart was raised on an Australian dairy farm; he practiced by hitting shots from paddock to paddock after his chores were done.
